The story behind Lindsay Lohan's 05 MB SL65
We purchased the car from a good friend/customer from Southern California. We buy ten to fiffteen cars from them per year. They sent us pictures of the car via an e-mail like always. The car was not damaged much so we bought it and arranged for transporation from the LA area to Houston. In the buying process our source told us that he would be able to supply some parts. He told us that he had the original front bumper from the car. He said it was scuffed and would need paint, but was still in good shape. (note: the current bumper cover is from her first wreck) When the car arrived at MAS we ordered the parts it needed and proceeded to repaired the minor damaged SL65. All four of the wheels were damaged, the rear two were repairable but the front two were beyond repair. The wheels were on back order from MB, so the repair took four more weeks then it normally would have taken. (Maybe it's MB's fault we found out the cars previous owner)
While the car was being repaired one of our customers 22 year old son noticed the car. He told us that it looked like Lindsay Lohan's car that she wrecked on Sunset Blvd. He showed us this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnqFeaNSh24 Wow! That was pretty cool. We own a car that was owned by Lindsay Lohan. That girl needs driving lessons if she plans on driving a car like this. If she wants to come to Texas we can show her how to drive in some of our race cars or in her old car if she wants.
After we got the vehicle repaired we thought to ourselves. Let's put it on Ebay. We did and put LINDSAY LOHAN in our ad. The first day it was on Ebay we had over 700 hits to the ad. After the third day the hits to the Ebay ad were over 27,000 and bidding was at $120,000.00 Nice... we were excited to see so much action. Then, the phone rings and it's our friends in LA that sold us the car. It turns out our Ebay ad was causing all kinds of grief for him. He did not disclose to us it was her car and transfered the title from her name into his dealership. But, never-the-less, her people were complaining. He asked if I would pulled it off Ebay and re-write the ad not using her name. We did just that so hopefully the powers-to-be realize that we only did that for him. The next buyer may not be so cooperative. If they want to buy the car and take it off the market, it's for sale.
