M3 Lightweight @ The Grand Prix of Houston
MAS Racing participated in the MSR Houston Charity Race on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the Houston Grand Prix. What a great experience! All procedes went to Breast Cancer research. We were very please to help an awesome charity and get to show off our car at the same time. Hugh Charvat drove the #16 M3 Lightweight to perfection beating some faster cars and finishing 4th. Congarts Hugh! We would like to thank our sponsors for helping us with a great weekend.. Yokohama tire... THANKS

The M3 Lightweight was on the track testing. Simply amazing car. We did two days of tweeking on the car for it's debut weekend. We ran some 1:57's. and were very pleased with that for it's first time out. It's got 3 or 4 more seconds in it for sure. We also tested and tuned the ITS/KP 323i Yokohama car and came away with some tips to make it faster as well. All-in-all a great weekend at TWS this Febuary 17 and 18th. See you at the track.

The SCCA race on March 31st at MSR Houston was WET... Very wet! Hugh Charvat got the ITS victory while Matt in the M3 Lightweight spent 2 laps in the mud in turn 6. CONGRATS to Hugh. All the changes over the winter on the 1999 323i seems to have paid off. Although, in the rain it's a little hard to tell. Thanks to Yokohama for the great ADVAN A048's. Full tread in the rain worked well. Just need to teach Matt not to press so hard on the gas in the rain. |

Simplicity. Build what works, not what could work or what has been rumored to work. Simple doesn't break. Simple works ... reliably.
Single minded focus and commitment to the details. Each detail is considered and specified before a single wrench turns. Interviews with the driver/owner, review of sanctioning body's rules, and discussion of goals for the race car comprise our build/design plan. After we have that critical information we begin executing the design plan starting with cage and safety equipment then move on to the suspension, drivetrain, and running gear (including body modification and paint work). Plan the work and work the plan.
Test to win. Each car starts it racing life by being tested at our track, an environment we know well, not only to properly break-in critical components but to also dial in the suspension and drivetrain. Once we have completed the testing and dialing in, the car heads off to win races. The car owner/driver is an integral part of this process.
Results are our resume. Our cars finish races. Our cars win races. Talk and opinions are cheap. Rather than spend our resources trying to sound like we know what we are doing, we spend our time doing what we know; building safe, reliable, winning, race cars. By building a car around the owner/driver's expectations we provide exactly what is expected -- no surprises.

We have started the building of a new 1999 BMW 323i ITS/KP race car. From a salvaged burned under the hood BMW you will see one of the best race cars built. We'll post more and more pictures as the project unfolds. Check out the pictures at this link. Cage is done and painted, suspension installed, exterior paint work done. Next the driveline goes in and we on the track testing. Can't wait! Check out the new pictures posted 06-02-2006. Some on track pictures of us testing. Dynoed on 4-7-06, got a little software tweeking to do but look for this car to be very competitive. First SCCA race was a success. Finished 2nd with our bone stock engine..... Many more horse power to be gotten with a race engine that we will build soon. Check out the new pictures from the SCCA event ...
